Chapel Hill UMC is blessed to have many children who are active in the worship and the ministry life of the church. Our children rang from 3 year olds through children in the 5th grade. During specific ministry activities the Children are divided up by age to provide for a better learning and participatory environment. Sunday School Classes are offered on Sunday morning from 10AM -10:40AM. The children are also invited to Children’s Church during the worship service in place of staying for the sermon. The lessons are based on the same message as the sermon, but tailored to fit the children’s ages.

All of our teachers/ leaders are required to have a background check and to participate in a program called Safe Sanctuaries. Our goal is to provide a safe and nurturing environment in which the children of our community can participate in the life of the church. VBS
Vacation Bible School is a long-standing tradition here at Chapel Hill UMC. This is a time for children to come during the summer for fellowship and Bible lessons. This years VBS is coming up in June from the 24 through the 28th from 9AM to 11AM. This year’s theme is a carnival. It is going to be a great time for the children of Chapel Hill. The Early Learning Center
The Early Learning Center is a Parent’s Day Out Program offered in two different classes. The 3-year-old group currently meets on Tuesday and Thursdays from 8AM – 2PM. The 4-year-old group meets on Mondays and Wednesdays from 8AM – 2PM. The classes focus on Kindergarten preparedness through Christian education. The Little Fish Choir
The Little Fish Choir is Chapel Hill UMC’s awesome children’s choir. During the school year we meet every other Wednesday from 5:30PM to 6:30PM for practice. The Little Fish Choir sings during service and during special Cantatas. During the Children and Youth service the Little Fish Choir takes over the whole service and leads us all in worship. This is a great ministry that allows children to become comfortable with Church and to share their gifts with the congregation in the worship of God. Mission Friends
Mission Friends is a ministry for children that meets monthly on Wednesday nights from 5:30PM to 6:30PM during the school year. The focus of this group is to involve children in direct mission in their community. In the past we have focused on food drives for the Loaves and Fish ministry. Bible Drill
We meet every other Wednesday during the school year from 5:30PM – 6:30PM. During this time the children study specific Bible verses or traditions of the Church. Recently they have learned the Apostle’s Creed, which they then led the church in proclaiming during worship.
